Several villages are under threat of flood because of snow melting in Pavlodar oblast. The Emergency Situations services have switched to the round-the-clock work mode. The rescue operations teams involve over 40 heavy vehicles, STV channel reports. According to Pavlodar oblast Emergency Situations Department, the villages of Bayanaul region have suffered the most. Villages Kundykol, Karaschi and Tendyk have become victims of large-scale snow melting. The meltwater flooded several buildings and auxiliary facilities. The rescuers have rendered the required aide to the victims of the disaster. “The snow was quickly melting in the nearby hills and the water was slowing down Tendyk village. The meltwater flows thorough this village every year. But this year it got out of the bed and flooded the buildings and the facilities,” head of Pavlodar oblast Emergency Situations Department Serik Koshkarbayev said. Besdies, the floods threaten to wash out a section of Pavlodar-Karaganda road. The experts say that the rescuers have been responding to all the messages about the floods that they department received. “The situation with floods in stable. The works are currently in process on breaking the ice and cleaning the roads,” Koshkarbayev said. The rescue works involve over 40 vehicles and 120 rescuers. According to the experts, the situation remains worrisome and there is still a risk of flooding of residential buildings in case of a sudden warming.
